Keys of Hope Luncheon

The YWCA Knoxville & the Tennessee Valley is on a mission… a mission to empower women and eliminate racism by providing life-changing services to women and families and serving at the forefront of community efforts to foster peace and justice.

Now in its 15th year, the YWCA’s Annual Keys of Hope Luncheon brings together over 700 residents and leaders to support and showcase the work of the YWCA and the Jenny Boyd Keys of Hope Program for Women.

For over a century, the YWCA has offered a safehaven for women rebuilding their lives after challenges like domestic violence, substance abuse, imprisonment, homelessness, and health crises. This work is made possible by the generosity of hundreds of generous individuals and sponsors who support the YWCA at the Annual Keys of Hope Luncheon. We are grateful for your support!

Like 87% of our residents, Sue* has a history of domestic violence. Last year, Sue lost her job and soon found herself homeless and living in a motel. She came to the YWCA seeking a safe place to start over. After meeting with a program counselor, Sue moved into the Jenny Boyd Keys of Hope Women’s Program. She participated in financial literacy classes and health and wellness classes. With job training, she was able to find new employment and pay off her debts. Sue is working full-time and recently saved enough money to transition into her own permanent housing.

Funds raised through this event support life-changing programs that empower victims of domestic violence; provide a safe, nurturing environment for our most at-risk youth; encourage boys and men to prevent violence against women; and provide safe, affordable housing to women and their families, in Knoxville and throughout the Tennessee Valley.
