Policy Platforms
YWCA Knoxville and the Tennessee Valley monitors policy and legislation throughout the year that impact our mission and clients at local, state, and federal levels. With a six-county service area, YWCA’s state-wide advocacy efforts often have the most impact. In partnership with sister YWCAs across the region and country, as well as advocacy and policy groups, YWCA Knoxville and the Tennessee Valley uses its history of excellence and expertise to leverage support for legislation and public policy.
In 2020, YWCA has identified the following priorities with a clear connection to our mission, client, and community wellbeing:
Throughout state and federal legislative sessions we’ll update you about what legislation and policy we’re tracking, our stance on it and how we arrived at that position, and action you can take to promote or discourage legislation and policies.
